Join us in a collective breath in community with people of the global majority. BIPOC Community Breath: A restorative meditative practice crafted for fostering connection, building resilience and inner peace. Experience the transformative power of mindfulness and community every Monday in April at 7:15 PM. This series is sanctuary space for self-identified Black, Indigenous and People of Color.

This session is designed to create a supportive and tranquil space for individuals within the BIPOC community, fostering healing, reflection, and a sense of inner peace. The meditation will incorporate cognitive behavioral health and mindfulness practices, along with guided techniques, providing participants with an opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation. My goal is to offer a safe and welcoming environment where everyone can connect with themselves and with other people of the global majority to experience the profound benefits of restorative asana, guided meditation, pranayama, chanting om, sound healing, and optional essential oil therapy. All supplies will be provided with the assistance of the studio and props. This accessible practice will provide light movement, restorative asana, and opportunities for modifications appropriate for all levels.

Jose Entrekin (He/She/They) is a passionate yoga instructor based in Oakland, and raised in San Diego, CA, dedicated to creating an inclusive and empowering yoga experience for individuals of all genders and backgrounds. With a foundation in Hatha-based training, Jose weaves together yogic history, philosophy, and practical elements such as body mechanics and alignment. Their classes extend beyond the physical, incorporating breathing techniques and meditation to cater to a diverse range of practitioners. As a Yoga Alliance 500 RYT, Jose brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the mat. Since 2019, they have been guiding various classes, including Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Restorative, Yin, and Tone & Sculpt. Their commitment to making yoga accessible is reflected in their work with MiraCosta College, UC Berkeley, and contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project/Operation Homefront, Immigrants Rising, and many other community organizations. Rooted in the belief that yoga should honor its cultural origins and connect practitioners to the earth, Jose's teaching philosophy emphasizes both physical and spiritual well-being while also working to decolonize his/her/their practice, with a special focus on creating a safe and affirming space for women, people of the global majority, and the Queer and Trans community.
