As a queer Filipina American born in Nigeria who came to the States as an undocumented immigrant, Melissa Andrada (Mel - she/they) brings a highly sensitive approach on and off the mat.

Alongside their community work as a healer and yoga teacher, Mel is an independent DEI & Mental Health Strategic Consultant, Workshop Facilitator and Leadership Coach for workplaces that have included Google, the labor union UFCW 3000, AXIS Dance and Outschool.

They co-lead the Queer Yoga Collective at the studio Arise in Oakland, and are currently pursuing a part-time Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies with a focus on grief and sexuality.

When Mel isn’t studying or working, she can be found traveling, surfing mellow waves, cooking decadent meals and writing essays on grief and what it means to be human.
